Conclusion

The Legend of Zelda is a franchise that tries to keep its religious undertones hidden. While obvious Christian themes such as words like “god” and “bible” are not used in the games, the games actually have plots that closely follow the teachings of Christianity.

Link (as Christ) is up against Ganondorf (Satan). Link is reincarnated by the goddesses in order to stop Ganondorf. Ganondorf represents Satan, a force that fights the morals of God (or in Ganondorf’s case, the goddesses). Link represents Jesus, he is brought to the world to pass God’s words to the people. Link defeating Ganondorf represents the morals of God overcoming Satan. The Golden Goddesses represent God himself, God created the world and its people and only intervenes when necessary.

The stories of The Legend of Zelda are retellings of the story of Jesus.
